Final Blog (reflection online)

Since this class has transitioned online, I feel our professors have done a great job in helping us succeed. Unlike some of my other classes, I feel like this class transitioned to online learning very seamlessly and I did not come across many problems. I feel like this class works well online and it was actually kind of nice doing projects from home because it allowed me to be in a setting I was used to being creative in. I usually write music in my home so creating films and projects here seemed very natural for me. Although we couldn't use school cameras and computers, I felt I was able to make due with the equipment and software I already had and it worked out pretty well. It kind of made it easier using things I was already familiar with like IMovie and Logic Pro X. Being able to use people we knew as subjects for our projects was also very helpful because in some of my other classes, they still made us use subjects we did not know personally and it became very hard to find t...

Artist Statement

As a musician, I try to create music that I can receive a sense of accomplishment from. Although I very much want others to enjoy the work that I make, I am mostly making music that I can listen to and feel proud of for all the hours put into it. I have always considered music to be my favorite form of consumable media because of the way it triggers a variety of emotions within you. So far, my work has touched upon topics of social relationships I have had with certain individuals in my life. As I continue to make music, my vision, style, and ideas being displayed are changing and are constantly dynamic. When my audience listens to my music, my primary hope is that they find it enjoyable or beautiful to experience. In the present moment, my work is heavily influenced by the indie rock genre and the various elements than encapsulate it. These elements are what I am stylistically into right now but could change in the future. My philosophy of making music is to begin with the instrume...
